With the rapid economic development, the high-speed railway network has gradually improved on various deficiencies in terms of foundational construction in order to meet the needs of people from different places. In fact, high-speed railway stations have embarked on the road of expansion. While improving on the present deficiencies, the older constructions have been removed and renovated so a new high-speed railway station can continue its original mission. Recently, Tyhen Foundation’s low headroom drilling rig KR300ES has been invited to participate in the process of expansion for Lushan High Speed Railway Station in Jiujiang, Jiangxi.
On 6 December 1996, Lushan mountain was listed as a World cultural heritage site. Lushan station is a historical building, it has been around for 100 years ever since its initial construction in 1911. The station is located at ChaiSang Road, ShaHe Street, ChaiSang District, JiuJiang City, Jiangxi Province, serving as a second-class platform under the jurisdiction of China Railway Nanchang Bureau Group, it is the interchange station of the Anzhou-Jiujiang High speed Railway, the Wuzhou-Jiujiang High Speed Railway, the Chang-Jiujiang intercity Railway and the Beijing-Jiujiang Railway. The fact that it was built in the Qing Dynasty indicates that the location of this high-speed railway station is very ideal. The station's strategic importance is underlined by its nearly 100 years of operation. In order for the Lushan Station to better serve the public, Lushan Station had began its expansion project in 2020. Currently Lushan Station is under construction. According to the construction plan, thehe station will be expanded to 60,000 square meters, which is nearly 15 times larger than the original station.
This project is part of the expansion project of Lushan High-speed Railway Station, which is right beside to a high-speed railway station in operation that have many high-speed railways trips every day, so it is a requirement that the construction process of Lushan High-speed Railway Station will not impact the operation of the nearby high-speed railway station. Meanwhile, the height of construction equipment cannot exceed 11 meters, the depth to drill is 28 meters, and the pile diameter to meet is 1 meter. As the high-speed railway station was built on the mountain, the construction stratum is mainly hard limestone, and the upper layer is red sandstone for about 10 meters. In addition, it is required that the surrounding stratum should not be affected during construction, so that the normal operation of high-speed railway will not be affected. The equipment required needs strong power and rock entering capacity as the construction difficulty is immense. Tyhen’s KR300ES rotary drilling rig has maximum drilling depth of 35 meters, construction height of 10 meters, coupled with the largest construction diameter of 2 meters and power head torque of 320kN.m, perfectly meets the construction requirements such as limited space, the requirement of large pile diameter, deep digging depth, large torque and rock entry capabilities. Furthermore, it is capable of completing the large diameter rock entry construction under the limitation of low construction height and ultra-deep drilling depth requirement.
